So, Christmas is upon us. The annual Christmas card behind the scenes at the photo shoot is published below.

The nominations for our annual album of the year award have been particularly strong this year. The committee accepts the decisions of past years but is rather horrified to remember Madonna winning in 2005, she wouldn't even get in this years top 20. Honourable mentions for Arcade Fire, Kanye West, Janelle Morae, Robyn, Vampire Weekend, Gorillaz and Plan B. But the winning vote goes to the truly peerless The National and High Violet. An album of quite stunning beauty.
